The purpose of this San Jose State University hackathon is to promote an enjoyable competition with the satisfaction of finding approaches to some unique technology challenges facing the US Postal Service.
Bring your skills and creativity to tackle real-world questions based on the themes below.

RULES / PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT:
- Participants must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled as a student at San Jose State University.
- The maximum team size is 4 people.
- Teams should be made up exclusively of SJSU Engineering, Science, and Business students.
Teams must use the Submissions page to create and modify their hacks/projects based on the following schedule:
- Team Name and Members must be submitted by 7pm on Friday
- Project Proposal must be submitted by 11pm on Friday
- Final Submission must be submitted by 5pm on Saturday
The focus questions will be provided when you register and will be presented during the Opening Remarks and Orientation.
$3,000 in prizes
The first place team will receive $300 per person for a total of up to $1200.
The second place team will receive $250 per person for a total of up to $1000.
The third place team will receive $200 per person for a total of up to $800.

Originality / Novelty
We look to inspire innovation in the next generation of students. Is the hack unique? Does it do something entirely novel, or at least take a fresh approach to an old problem? Does it show creativity? This category will be based solely on the idea.
Impact / Usefulness
Does the hack demonstrate potential for widespread impact? Does it address one or more of the challenges identified? This category will be based solely on the idea.
Feasibility / Practicality
We look for new and original ideas, we want hackers to think outside the box, but we also want the ideas to be somewhat practical. Is this project feasible and practical in the next 3-5 years? This category will be based solely on the idea.
Is the hack technically challenging? Is it a simple API mashup or is it a comprehensive effort that leverages advanced architecture, tough algorithms, and various libraries and languages? Does it offer new and creative technology or process innovation?
Polish / Design
Is the hack usable in its current state? Does everything appear to work as intended? Is it mostly bug-free? Does it demonstrate a refined concept that is easy to understand? Is the presentation clear and convincing?
